Like a Good Neighbor . . . Zero to Hero Day 11

Like a Good Neighbor Other Bloggers are There!

Ok so I am giving in to the fact that Zero to Hero is taking over my blogging life.  This is both good and bad.  Less time to write my short stories, but more time to connect with fellow bloggers and make my blog totally super awesome.  I think that’s a good trade off.

For today’s challenge I took some time out to find three other Zero to Hero bloggers to connect with.  I always learn new things when I get out of my own box.  Today’s lesson was the power of connection and positivity between fellow bloggers.   I learned it from these three:

100 Words of Fiction

A post on the power of positive words.  It is so important as an artist to be surrounded by a community of supportive people.  Regardless of whether they be using the same medium as you.  Mae’s words reminded me of how great the WordPress community is and how much I value the positive and thoughtful comments from my readers.  It also reminded me to take more time out to do the same for other bloggers.  We are all in this together after all.

The Flibberatic Skreebles

I was so happy to stumble upon Dom’s blog.  His photos of his dog are just so dang cute!  Not to mention his beautiful photographs of flowers.  They cheered me up immensely.  Currently I am in Denver where it might be sunny, but it is cold and the snow has melted to that icky black stuff at the side of the road.   It was nice to be reminded of spring.  Also his thoughts on collaboration reminded me that I need to get out there more and talk/meet up with/collaborate with other artists.

Lauren Kells

Lauren’s post inspired this post!  So thank you Lauren.  I loved how she focuses on the connections she has with other bloggers as a way to determine who to follow and who to read.  I enjoyed exploring the three blogs she highlighted which all dealt with books, one of my favorite things. Looks like Lauren and I are both writers, both love books, and both started our blogs about the same time.  Connection established!

So in conclusion I need to get out there in the blogosphere more and connect with more bloggers!   I bet all of you reading this do too so go check out these awesome blogs already:)

  1. Hooray! Thank you Harvey, for including me in your post. I too have been consumed by Zero to Hero and have not been getting much other writing done… Sigh.

  2. I have nominated you for an award. See my blog for details.

  3. Thanks for posting these! Making comments on blog posts is what I find hardest, so I was happy with this Zero to Hero challenge – I always appreciate being pushed out of the old comfort zone. And your post has inspired me to post my finds tomorrow!
